Artist's Statement:
This series of images were mostly shot in New Mexico and Corsica,
both places have stunning landscapes and often extraordinary cloud formations.
I was travelling through New Mexico and began noticing more and more abandoned cars,
often right by the side of the road but sometimes in the middle of a field or in a place
seemingly inaccessible to a car.
I enjoyed imagining how they came to have arrived at this, their final resting place. . .
were they simply forgotten over time or intentionally abandoned in the wild.
Now they had begun their final journey, of being reclaimed by nature:
the structure slowly decaying as paint, rubber and fabric are
stripped away, revealing pastel tones and raw metal as the
cars naked form is left exposed to the elements.
